Day 2: Tofu Fail.

I found some tofu at the grocery store the other night and figured I’d try it. I figured it’d be something new to our healthy eating routine. I knew I was suppose to drain the tofu block but other than that… I was clueless on how to cook it. I squared it, seasoned it pretty well, and cooked it in a skillet with olive oil. Well, they looked delicious… almost like fried potatoes & smelled good too. I decided to try a bit and when I did I almost gagged. The outside was slightly crunchy and yummy but as soon as you get to the center… yuck! — very bland and just nasty. I was quite disappointed. :| Especially since I had cooked a whole meal around this one ingredient.

I’m not going to give up though. Tofu is great for you and I hear it can be quite yummy (when cooked right) so I plan to research and hopefully come across some delicious recipes. :)

I went ahead and prepared the meal without the tofu. A plate of rice topped with broccoli, potato hash, and carrot sticks. Despite the tofu fail the meal was pretty yummy. :)
